The Augmented Business Tool Department Programme

The Augmented Business Tool Department Programme

At Genesis, we do not just tell you where AI belongs. We select the right people in your business and train them to understand it, build it, integrate it and keep it improving.

If AI use in your business crosses several people, functions or systems, the work comes before the tool and the evidence comes before the conclusion. The programme starts with a Genesis advisory Review and is shaped around how your business works.

Introducing who we are

The Academy starts with the work.

Genesis ABT Academy is the learning institution within Genesis Performance Advisory. Its flagship route is the Augmented Business Tool Department Programme, a one-year, Review-first programme that helps you develop the people, workflows and evidence needed to use AI well and keep the work in your business.

The market problem Genesis recognised

Genesis has recognised a specific problem in the market: you cannot simply hire people with the right depth of AI knowledge. People with real depth in AI are mostly running their own businesses. That is where they have the time and freedom to go deeply into AI, test it against real work and build it into the way their business operates. They are therefore not usually sitting in the hiring market as employees waiting to be found. If you want this knowledge to become part of how your business works, the practical answer is to grow it internally, with your own people, workflows and evidence.

Genesis Performance Advisory

Genesis Performance Advisory is an independent AI consultancy firm for established and operationally complex businesses. We avoid the parts that only add cost, and we tell you straight where AI should be avoided.

Our work starts with how your business operates. A Genesis advisory Review is our paid diagnosis of how your business actually works. We speak with the people doing the work and open the records that show how it is done. The Review ends with a written account of what we found and what should happen next.

That is the starting point for the Academy's flagship route, the Augmented Business Tool Department Programme. The Review establishes whether this route fits your business and what the year should contain. It prevents a generic training syllabus from being imposed on work it was never designed to support.

What we do

We put AI in the right order.

Suitable tools belong in suitable workflows. The work comes before the tool, and the evidence comes before the conclusion.

Genesis identifies where an AI tool can help in your business, where the basics need attention first, and where AI should not be used. We place suitable tools into suitable workflows and judge them by the work they improve, not by the number of tools you have bought.

The programme is the route through which Genesis helps you build and take ownership of the work. It starts with how your business works, then places AI only where it adds real performance.

The Augmented Business Tool Department Programme adds a one-year staff training route for businesses where AI use crosses several people, functions or systems. It helps you select and develop your own people, improve recurring workflows one at a time, test working tools in a controlled setting, and document the ways of working that need to continue after the training year.

The programme is not a course that ends at tool familiarity. It is a structured year of learning, practical work and transfer, shaped by the Review and measured against agreed evidence from your work.

Five areas of AI learning

A connected year of applied learning.

Your trainees sample all five areas. The Review, demonstrated work and evidence then shape where each person goes deeper.

01 / TRACK

Workflow, automation and agents

Turn your repeatable work into carefully tested tools that support your team.

02 / TRACK

Data and analysis

Use your business information to find patterns, test claims and make better decisions.

03 / TRACK

Creative and generative media

Create useful content and media with human direction, judgement and review.

04 / TRACK

Client-facing translation and product

Translate your complex work into clear client-facing outputs and usable products.

05 / TRACK

Knowledge, evaluation and quality

Build knowledge, review results and maintain quality as your work changes.

The tracks connect to your wider programme: trained people, improved workflows, retained knowledge and a clear route for handover. Progress is tested against agreed evidence, not attendance alone.

The programme does not promise to leave you with a finished company brain or production platform. Where you need a production build, it is scoped separately and given the security, ownership and sign-off it requires.

The benefit of investing long term in staff training

Training your business, not only the individual.

Long-term staff training is an investment in how your business works. When your people learn against real workflows, the learning can be tested, written down and passed to others. You are not left with attendance records and a new set of subscriptions. You are left with people who have practised the work, tools that have been tested against it, and documented ways of working that others can follow.

The investment also keeps judgement close to your business. Your staff learn where a tool helps, where it creates more work, what must be checked by a person and where you should not use AI. That understanding matters because the right answer differs from one workflow to another.

Over time, the benefit sits in the combination of trained people, improved workflows, retained knowledge and a clear route for handover. The programme is designed to help you keep learning after your first group has completed the year. Your internal tutors can teach the next wave, and your agreed ways of working can be reviewed as tools and models change.

The strongest evidence is local evidence. Genesis reports what changed in the workflows you agreed, how the measures compare with your baseline, meaning the agreed measurement taken before the change, and how strongly the available evidence supports the conclusion. The programme does not attach a universal return to your business, because your starting point, your work and your conditions differ.

The one-year timeline

A year built around real work.

Months 1 to 2
Mobilise and select
You prepare the working environment, name an internal coordinator and agree the data and quality rules for the programme. People are selected fairly, with existing staff considered first.
Month 3
Build the foundation
Your participants establish the common habits needed for safe and useful AI work. They learn how to frame a task, check an answer, handle information carefully and recognise when to stop or question the result.
Months 4 to 6
Develop and test
Participants work on approved workflows in a controlled setting. Working tools are built, tested and reviewed. By the month-six point, you should have trained operators, a portfolio of accepted work and the starting point for your own governed knowledge system. This is not a finished company-wide system or a production platform.
Months 7 to 9
Roll out
The trained group carries the work into your departments. Workflows are mapped, tools are tested, people are supported and written procedures are developed as the work changes. You see how the new ways of working perform in the places where they are intended to be used.
Months 10 to 12
Transfer and strengthen
The programme focuses on teach-backs, handover, written procedures, recovery and operating readiness. The closing question is not whether people attended. It is whether your business has named owners, a usable support route and enough evidence to continue the work without Genesis running the day to day.
