An independent AI consultancy firm with extensive AI knowledge and capabilities, for established and operationally complex businesses

Thinking about AI for your business?

Done right, AI does not replace your people. It gives them back the hours lost to manual work, holds on to the know-how that usually leaves when they do, and puts your money where it actually earns its keep.

We find the places where AI can safely, efficiently and profitably operate, avoid the parts that only add cost, and tell you straight where AI should be avoided.

Is this you?

Two starting points.
One honest first step.

You run a team

Work gets done differently by different people. Reports take hours and are out of date by the time they land. Knowledge lives in a few heads, and you feel it every time someone is off or leaves. You want AI placed where it lifts performance, on foundations that can hold it: the way the work gets done, the information you keep, the software you run on, the people who do the work, and the person leading the change.

You run the business on your own

You are the owner, the operator, and the person who fixes everything. You have tried a few AI tools. One or two help. Most sit unused, and you are not sure which of them earns its keep. You want a straight read on where AI belongs in how you work, without paying for tools you do not need.

The cost of waiting

Waiting is not neutral.

You know AI matters, and it is easy to plan to deal with it properly later. The trouble is that "later" has a running cost, and you are already paying it. While the decision lingers, the manual work stays manual, and the reporting keeps eating hours. And the key knowledge of the business keeps on leaving when people walk out the door.

The other cost is the one you pay for trying to keep up. The field keeps on evolving every week. There are more tools than any owner could test. And each one claims to do something different. The real work is knowing which few are worth having, how to make them work together, and how to keep the whole setup current as it all keeps changing. That is a full job on its own, and it is not the one you are meant to be doing. Your job is running your business.

  • Hours are lost. Time wasted. Doing menial reporting. Until the problem is fixed you will continue to pay for it every month.
  • The wrong tool gets bought under pressure. When decisions are rushed money gets spent quickly and on the wrong thing. And what you end up with is something that made grand promises but does not deliver and does not fit in with your business. It is the expensive way to start.
  • The knowledge stays in one head. Every handover you have not made is a risk you are carrying. It only shows up on the day someone leaves.

Keeping up with all of this is our job, not yours. Ours is to design and create a marriage of AI tools that are custom fit to your business, meant to lift performance, cut wasted time, and put your money where it earns its keep. We connect them to work as one harmonious system, and keep them current as the field advances. Yours is to run the business. Here is how that works, and it starts with a conversation that costs you nothing.

How it works

A clear path, and you can stop at any point.

Working with us is not a leap. It is three plain steps, and each one is complete on its own. You are never asked to commit to the next step to get the value of the one you are on.

01

Talk to us, free

A forty-five-minute Discovery Call to understand how your business runs and where the pressure is. You leave with a straight read on where you stand, whether or not you ever go further. If you would rather see the work before you talk, look at the Specimen first; it is further down this page.

02

Get the Decision

Before any money moves on tools, we give you a bounded, written read: where AI should go, where it should wait, and where the honest answer is not to use AI at all. A clear decision you can act on, in plain English.

03

We build only what earns its place

Where the Decision says go, we build it, into NEURAL, the one connected layer your business runs the work from. That is the Implementation. Afterwards, the Partnership keeps the setup in step with a moving field, so what you own stays current. You own all of it, for good.

The single next step

There is one next step, and it is small: a free conversation. Everything else follows from it.

What we do

AI in the right order.

01

If you are ready: we implement

We confirm exactly where you are, then place the right AI tools across the business and join them into one connected layer. Judged by the performance they add, never by the number of tools.

02

If you are not ready: we get you ready

We find the root cause and fix the foundations in the right order, so that when the AI tools go in, they hold. No bolt-on AI, and no large change before the basics work.

Before you say yes

What we promise.

01

We will tell you when AI is the wrong answer

Sometimes the honest recommendation is to fix something else first, or to do nothing yet. We say so, and we say it early. That is the point of starting with the business rather than the technology.

02

The Discovery Call is free, and there is no pitch

Forty-five minutes, before any work begins. We learn how your business runs, and tell you honestly whether there is a real opportunity to help. You leave with a straight read on where you stand, whether or not you ever hire us. No commitment of any kind.

03

We take nothing from the tools we recommend

No referral fees, no commission, no affiliation. We are not an AI agency. Genesis does not lead with software. The outcome is an AI capability built around how your business works, delivered through software we build and the judgement and method behind making it work. You are paying for the advice, and that is the only thing shaping it.

04

You see the price in writing before anything starts

Every piece of paid work is scoped and priced up front, in a written proposal. Nothing begins until you say yes.

What our work actually looks like

One AI decision, from the problem to the outcome.

What our method produces for you is a clear and verifiable account of how AI produces and impacts workflow, alongside clear boundaries and parameters built within it. It is not designed around using complex technical language, but rather everyday terms that you are familiar with. Read and judge for yourself. The example below is illustrative. There is no real client, no promised result, and every figure belongs to this example alone.

An illustrative Genesis operating record

One job: checking supplier invoices against what was ordered and what was delivered, before the weekly payment run. The business in this example is invented.

The decision, including the honest no-AI line

Use AI to point at where a supplier invoice, the order behind it and the delivery note disagree. Do not use AI on subcontractor invoices under the Construction Industry Scheme: the split between labour and materials sets the tax deduction, and HMRC puts that check on a person. Do not use AI to decide whether to withhold a payment, because that is a judgement about a commercial relationship and nothing in the invoice tells you any of it.

The boundary, in five parts

The tool never does the sum; the arithmetic runs in the accounting system. Every flag cites the document, the page and the line. It flags, and never concludes. How often it raises a false alarm is measured and published in the record. And it never files, submits, pays or sends: every one of those is a person's act, against a person's name.

The test that was caught

Of 31 alerts raised in testing, 3 pointed at the wrong line on the page. A person found it, because opening the cited line is a required step rather than a recommended one. Nothing was paid wrongly. That step became mandatory in the written procedure the same day.

The outcome measure

Four numbers read every month: how many alerts were raised, what proportion of them turned out to be real, how many cited nothing or cited the wrong line, and whether anything wrong was paid by any route.

Illustrative example. The business, its people and every figure are invented. No real client and no promised result. Four of the five sources it rests on are real, public and dated, and you can go and read them.

See it before you spend

See exactly what we build, before you decide anything.

Before you talk to us, you can see the work itself. The Specimen is a browsable, clearly-labelled worked example of the operating record we produce for one workflow: the job, the source and its date, who owns it, where the AI must stop, the test it had to pass, the human check, and the honest decision, including when that decision is not to use AI at all. It shows you how we think, and lets you judge the quality of it without spending a thing.

What you see first is the method, the same for every business, so you can read how a decision is made whatever your sector. One step in is the same record filled in for a business like yours. When we work with you, we build one for your own.

Every Specimen is illustrative. There is no real client and no promised result; the figures belong to the example alone. It is there to show the quality of the thinking, not to claim an outcome.

Where Genesis is different

Anyone can buy AI. Genesis turns it into an Augmented Business Tool.

One connected layer joining a business's tools and knowledge

An Augmented Business Tool changes how the business runs. An augmented business tool is the route through which Genesis helps you build and take ownership of the work. It is shaped around the way your business works, rather than treated as a general AI product bought off the shelf and bolted onto a way of working nobody fixed. A tool is judged by where you put it. That is the whole difference between AI that pays and bolt-on AI.

Your files and knowledge are there the moment you need them, without anyone having to remember which case or client they belong to.

Tools are easy to buy. What decides whether they pay back is whether they are joined into one connected layer, rather than sitting in silos while the knowledge stays in one person's head. That layer is your NEURAL: the single connected place where your business keeps what it knows and runs its work from. It does three things.

Networked Enterprise Understanding,
Reasoning and Automation Layer.

Because it lives in your business rather than in one person's head, what you have learned stays when people come and go. The field keeps moving, and that is why keeping current matters: your setup is only worth what it is worth this quarter. The Partnership is how it stays worth having.

It holds what you decide

The documents, decisions and ways of working you put into it are kept in one place, where the business can find them again.

It links it all

Your tools stop working in silos and start working as one connected system.

It stays current

It stays with the business whoever comes or goes, and the Partnership holds it in step as the field advances.

The race for the smartest model belongs to the model makers. Every other business wins on how well its AI reflects the way it actually works. That is what NEURAL is.
Where Business Is Heading

Every technology shift has one thing in common.

“In the future every business, just like they have a website and a phone number and an email address and a social media account, is also going to have an AI …” Mark Zuckerberg, Meta  ·  Cleo Abram interview, 25 September 2024

Newspapers underestimated radio. Radio underestimated television. Businesses once asked whether they really needed a website or an email address. Each time, in our reading of it, the businesses that learned the new standard early tended to gain an advantage, and the ones that waited had more ground to make up later.

AI is that shift now. The advantage does not come from moving first for its own sake; it comes from placing AI well, on a real job, with a clear line the tool does not cross.

Genesis ABT Academy

The Academy starts with the work.

Genesis ABT Academy is the learning institution within Genesis Performance Advisory. Its flagship route is the Augmented Business Tool Department Programme, a one-year, Review-first programme that helps you develop the people, workflows and evidence needed to use AI well and keep the work in your business.

The Review establishes whether this route fits your business and what the year should contain.

How we build

From the centre outwards.

Bolt AI on and hope, and it stays a cost. We build the other way. We start at the centre of your business with the everyday admin, prove the saving before we touch anything load-bearing, then move outward to the one thing holding your growth back.

01

Audit the team, not a hunch

We watch how the work is really done and where the hours go. Two questions decide what we touch first: where is the time going, and where can a tool take the first pass with a person still checking.

02

Start where a mistake is cheap

The first tools go on the time-heavy, low-risk jobs. The weekly report, the inbox, the data tidy-up. A person stays in the loop, so nothing breaks while your business learns what the tools can do.

03

Prove it in hours and pounds

Every tool has a before and an after. We write the saving down from the first tool, not the last, so the value is never a matter of opinion.

04

Then attack the constraint

Saving hours makes a business lighter. It does not make it bigger. So we find the one thing capping growth, the part that would break first if your customers doubled tomorrow, and we remove it.

05

Build it to stay

Everything we place goes into your NEURAL, so the capability stays when people leave. That is the difference between hiring help and owning a department.

You do not end up with a folder of tools. You end up with an Augmented Business Tool Department that stays with the business.

The Engagement

01

Discovery Call Free

A 45-minute conversation to understand the business and where the pressure points are. We judge how complex the work would be, then scope and price the right next step. No pitch at this stage.

02

Proposal

A clear written proposal, scoped to your business and priced up front, with no commitment until you say yes. A Review is a structured look at how your business actually works, carried out through interviews with your people and a look at your records, ending in a written report of what we found. You pick how deep it goes, and nothing is held back at either depth: both include the findings, the Action Plan, and a session where we take you and your people through them.

  • the Focused Review: one named part of the business, opened properly. One or two workflows, or one decision you are about to take
  • the Full Review: every workflow in the agreed scope of the business
03

The Audit and the Decision

Structured conversations with you and your team. We go through each key workflow. A workflow is the whole path a piece of work travels through your business, from an enquiry arriving to the invoice being paid. We look at every function and handover point along it. The people doing the work know where the friction is, and we make sure that knowledge gets captured and used.

The audit produces the Decision: a bounded, written read of where AI should go, where it should wait, and where the honest answer is not to use AI at all, before any money moves on tools.

04

Findings Report

A clear written document: what is happening in each part of the business, why it is happening, and what it means. Written for management, and clear enough to share with the team.

Inside the report:

  • An executive summary for a busy decision-maker
  • Findings for each workflow: what each test showed, what we could not test, and a baseline field (which may read "not captured" until it is obtained)
  • A confirmed priority list, worst first
  • What each finding means for the business
  • A read on how well AI is currently used
  • A plain-English glossary of every term we use
05

the Action Plan

What to fix, in what order, who owns it, and how you will know it is working. It comes with the findings, in the same Review, and is never a separate purchase. Where AI belongs, it goes into your NEURAL. Prioritised by impact, and we come back in 30 days to review progress.

Inside the Action Plan:

  • Quick wins: actions that show visible results within 30 days, using what you already have
  • Medium-term actions for 30 to 90 days
  • Strategic initiatives for 90 days and beyond
  • A recommended set of AI tools, only for the workflows the audit has cleared
  • Guidance on putting each tool into daily use, and a 30-day follow-up review

Included with every Action Plan: your Implementation Pack, a set of personalised setup guides and user manuals for each tool, with an index and a glossary.

On a full engagement, also included: a tailored AI company policy, a tailored set of free tools, a costs and returns appendix, and light owner training.

If the Review shows that your business should build an ABT Department, Genesis ABT Academy's flagship Augmented Business Tool Department Programme is the lead route: a one-year build-and-transfer programme followed by separately scoped production Implementation and Partnership. If you do not want to build an ABT Department, or the Review points elsewhere, we recommend the standard advisory or implementation route the evidence supports.

Then the Implementation, and the Partnership. Where the Action Plan says go, we build it. Where AI belongs, it goes into your NEURAL. The Partnership then holds it there as the field advances, so what you own does not quietly go out of date. You own everything, for good.

What a proper look usually finds.

Management time reclaimed

Reporting that takes hours each month is almost always a problem with the way the work is done, in disguise. The data exists. The bottleneck is how it is gathered, assembled, and presented. Once that is fixed, the time is yours back.

Profitability that was always there

Total revenue is easy to see. Which clients, service lines or products actually drive your margin is not, unless something is built to show it. Your NEURAL makes that visible, and keeps it visible.

Knowledge that stays with the business

Key-person risk. Knowledge locked in one head. Handovers that only matter when someone goes. The connected layer holds what the business has put into it, so what you have learned stays when people come and go.

Genesis Performance Advisory

We do not sell AI.
We build it into how your business works.

Genesis was built on a simple view. The race for the smartest model belongs to the model makers. Every other business competes on how well its AI reflects the way it actually works: its customers, its products, its edge cases. That is where the value is built, and it is what NEURAL is.

So our work starts inside the business, with the people doing it. We fix what is in the way, then build AI into one connected layer that holds the knowledge and runs the work, long after any individual moves on.

  • Every recommendation sits behind a structured audit, never a hunch
  • Routes are chosen per workflow, not as a firm-wide fork: one Action Plan can carry more than one route at once
  • One connected layer built in, so knowledge and momentum stay in the business
  • Working with businesses of 1 to 200+ people, from solo operators to full teams, worldwide
  • We tell you when AI is the wrong answer. That is the point of starting with the business.
Questions owners ask before they call

Straight answers.

Is Genesis an AI agency?

No. We are an AI consultancy. We do not install tools for their own sake or sell automation as a gimmick. We start with how your business works, then place AI only where it adds real performance.

Do you actually implement, or only advise?

Both, in the right order. Where there is a clear case after the diagnosis, we put the tool in and build the result into the connected layer that holds your work. We do not put large change on top of foundations that cannot hold it.

Is the Discovery Call a free audit?

No. It is a focused 45-minute conversation to understand the business and recommend the right next step. A Review is paid work, scoped and priced before it begins.

Do I need an audit before anything else?

For most meaningful work, yes. We diagnose before we build, so that what we build fits the way you actually operate. The exception is a small, obvious, low-risk quick win.

We are only one person. Is this for us?

Yes. We work with businesses of 1 to 200 or more, from solo operators to full teams. The solo owner often gets the fastest return, because there is no one else to carry the manual work.

Do you publish prices?

The Discovery Call is free. Audits and the work of putting tools in are paid, and priced to the scope of your business. You see the figures in a written proposal before you commit to anything.

What is NEURAL?

It is the layer that holds what your business knows, links your tools into one connected system, and runs the work off it. Because it lives in the business rather than in one person's head, the value stays when people come and go.

What if we are not ready for AI yet?

Then we get you ready. We fix the foundations first, in sequence, so that when AI goes in it holds and pays back. Not being ready is a starting point, not a refusal.

Do you work with businesses outside the UK?

Yes. We work with businesses of 1 to 200 or more, worldwide, and deliver the audit and its output remotely.

What happens after the audit?

You receive the Action Plan: what to fix, in what order, who owns it, and how you will know it is working. It comes with the findings, in the same Review, and is never a separate purchase. Where you want support, we can stay on and help you put it into practice.

How long does an audit take?

It varies with the size of the engagement. A typical Review runs through structured interviews and document review, then a Findings Report and the Action Plan, with a follow-up review 30 days after delivery.

What if we already use some AI tools?

The audit tells you what to keep, what to fix, and what to remove. We do not force a rebuild of a tool that is already earning its place.

Will you sign an NDA?

Yes. We can put a mutual confidentiality agreement in place before any sensitive material changes hands.
